Elsie Claire Ferri

Elsie Claire Ferri, age 81, of Lake Village, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born March 7, 1929, in Koscuisko, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Homer Lawrence and Gladys Lewis Lawrence. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse working in labor and delivery at General Hospital, now Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Mississippi, for over 35 years where she delivered many citizens of this area. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Ferri, two brothers, James and Ray Lawrence and a sister, Beulah Lawrence. Survivors are a son, Steve Ferri and wife, Lucy, of Lake Village; a daughter, Sharon Henderson of Lake Village; two brothers, Doyle Lawrence of Houston, Mississippi and Marvin Lawrence of Koscuisko, Mississippi; a sister, Nell Parkerson of Canton, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Stephanie Jones (Eric), Chrissie Barnes, Paige Ferri and Seth Ferri; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Sydney, and Elle, and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday at Bishop Funeral Home with Rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 1, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Father Richard Somers as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Isadore Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
