Rita Ann Mather Cottrell

Services for Rita Ann Mather Cottrell, age 74, will be 2 p.m., Friday, December 31, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pittsburg, Texas and interment at Holly Tree Cemetery in Wood County, Texas. She was born September 22, 1936 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Mrs. Cottrell died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at her residence in Pittsburg, Texas. She attended college at St. Louis University where she received a Bachelors Degree. She also worked in the oil industry for many years as an executive secretary for Hunt Oil & Houston Oil & Minerals. She volunteered at the Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, and also at Muscular Dystrophy Hospital in Houston, Texas. She taught Sunday School when she lived in Houston and was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pittsburg, Texas. She is survived by her son, Chris Cottrell of Houston, Texas; daughters Alice Cottrell, Dallas, Texas & Holly Cottrell, Houston, Texas and grandchildren, Kathryn & Jennifer Cottrell. Preceded in death by her parents George Mather & Anna Marie Mather. Services are to be conducted by Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg, Texas.
