Alva Marie Holm

Alva Marie Holm, 88, of Quitman passed away at home on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. She was a member of Bayou Meto Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Holm and wife, Wanda of Phoenix, Arizona; two daughters, Jean Cates, and June Thomas and husband, Donald, all of Quitman; eight grandchildren, Wendell Andrews Jr., Marvin Andrews, Beth Hussman and husband Brandon, Joe Cates, Sean Cates, Rodney Hutchins, Andy Holm and John Holm; brother, Arthur George New, of Venice, Florida; and a host of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Holm, son-in-law, Claud Cates; grandsons, Michael James and Paul Ray Cates and her sister, Kate Swisher.
