William L. Thrasher, 90, of Beebe, Arkansas, was born December 13, 1919, at Holly Springs, Arkansas, to John and Bertha (Osborne) Thrasher, and he died Sunday, June 27, 2010. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, in the Battle of the Bulge. William was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of thirty-eight years, Lorene Thrasher, and eight siblings. He is survived by five daughters, Debbie Finn of Grass Valley, California, Gale Thrasher of Maumelle, Susie Thrasher of Monroe, Wisconsin, Mary Casey of Ogden, Utah and Cara West of Walnut Creek, California; five grandchildren, Kelly Finn, Chandra West, Gaylen Casey, Jarret Casey and Alden Casey; one great-grandchild, Amberlee Casey; and four siblings, Annie, Dorothy, Omega and Hank. "Wild Bill" and his guitar could sweetly sing away the toils of a hard day. With a kind and endearingly stubborn nature, he cherished his Lorene and their adoring daughters. After a lifetime growing strong from all that love, music and work, God beckoned with a song, and Bill played on. Viewing begins at 10 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, with funeral to follow at 11 a.m. at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Interment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends following the interment at Home Folks Jamboree, 1410 N. Beech St., Beebe. www.westbrookfuneralhome.com.
