Connie Ann Gordon, 61, of Bald Knob, died Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born November 13, 1948 in Searcy. Connie was a long-time elementary teacher in the Bald Knob Public School District and retired in 2006 after 23 years of service. She was a 1966 graduate of Bald Knob High School and went on to receive her Bachelors Degree from Lyon College and her Masters from Harding University. Connie was an active person who loved to travel and recently was able to enjoy a trip to Paris. She was also a member of the Velvet Ridge Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James Gordon; a son, Jayme Gordon and his wife Terri of Jonesboro; her parents, Olen and Corene (Fritts) Corbit of Bald Knob; a sister, Debbie Ridding of Searcy; a brother, Tommy Corbit of Bald Knob; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Gordon and Paige Cook both of Jonesboro.
Graveside services were held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 5 p.m. at the Velvet Ridge Cemetery with Bro. Doug Swindle officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia.www.powellfuneralhome.net.
