CARMEN FAYE SMITH GAGE, went home to meet the Lord, Saturday, July 3, 2010. She was born Dec. 11, 1920 in Little Rock, Ark. to Mary Effie and William Conway. She attended Little Rock public schools through the 12th grade, where she was active in sports, especially tennis. She married Vernon Smith in 1937, was the mother of eight children; four sons, Wallace, Tommy, John and Jimmie; four daughters, Rosalie, Shirley, Verna and Maribeth and had a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked 10 years at Children's Hospital and retired from the rehabilitation services for the blind in 1982. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by Tommy, Rosalie and Maribeth. She loved to plant flowers and watch them grow and her little dog Tinker Bell her constant companion. There will be a graveside service Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Pinecrest Memorial Park at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Namon Smith officiating.
