David J. Steuri

Little Rock, AR, 1970 - 2010

DAVID JOHN STEURI, age 39, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on July 1, 2010. He was born July 19, 1970, in Washington, D.C. David was a 1988 graduate of New Canaan, Connecticut High School and graduated in 1992 from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in Business, with majors in Finance and Marketing. He was on the University's Club Hockey Team and was Vice President of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was also a volunteer for the United Way and the Big Brothers organizations. He enjoyed a career after college as a financial advisor, stock broker and assistant NASDAQ trader for leading firms in Arkansas, Michigan and Connecticut. David was an avid athlete and sports enthusiast. He was an accomplished skier and downhill slalom racer, golfer and hockey player. He was an active participant in his family's business investments and their charitable Endowment, recommending and selecting charities that were especially important to him to support. David is survived by his parents, John and Grace Steuri of Little Rock; aunts and uncles Chuck and Suzanne Stofer of Hot Springs Village, Glenn and Connie Fager of Osage City, Kan.; four cousins, Katie Stofer of Corvallis, Ore., Julie Stofer of Washington, D.C., Tracie Adams of Topeka, Kan. and Luke Scheidt of Lincoln, Neb.; plus a host of extended family and many friends in cities where David has lived. David had a big heart and was caring and devoted to those in need. He was full of fun, loved people and never knew a stranger. A memorial service celebrating David's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Second Presbyterian Church, Cantrell Road at Pleasant Valley Drive; officiated by Reverend Steve Hancock. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Steuri Family Endowment, c/o Arkansas Community Foundation, 1400 West Markham – Suite 206, Little Rock, Ark. 72201.
