Mrs. Virginia Belt Hamilton, age 79, of Colt, Ark. died Sunday, July 4, 2010. Mrs. Hamilton was born Feb. 24, 1931 in Holly Springs, Miss. She was the daughter of Thomas Lander Belt and Shelley Mae Johnson Belt. Mrs. Hamilton had lived in Colt most of life was a member of the Colt Baptist Church and a housewife. Mrs. Hamilton married W. B. "Sonny" Hamilton in 1948 and he preceded her in death in 2007. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Searcy of Forrest City; three sons, Phil Hamilton of Forrest City, Tim Hamilton of Beck Spur and J. B. Hamilton of Wynne. She also is survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Loughridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial be made to Forrest City Humane Society. Online registry at stevensfuneralhome.net.
