Ferrell D. Gray, 80, of Jacksonville, passed away July 7, 2010 at his home. He was born June 12, 1930 in Guy, AR to the late Marvin and Hattie Wilson Gray. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Jarrell Gray and James Gray. Survivors include his loving wife Ruth Ann, son Rick Gray and wife Linda of Little Rock, daughters, Karen Simpson and husband, Rick of Jacksonville, Julia Watt and husband, Bill of Little Rock, Kelli-Ann Schluter and husband, Mike of Cabot and Kim Lee of Cabot, one brother, Dr. Dwight Gray of Marianna, Ark., 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a host of other friends and family. Ferrell served his country in the National Guard, was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church and was well known in the Jacksonville area for his civic involvement including; Gideon's International, Boy Scouts Troop 128, Lifetime member of Sertoma International, Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Jesters and the Scottish Rite. He was also involved in many area business groups such as; 3M Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Co. for 18 years, Central Arkansas Planning and Development 1979-1997, Jacksonville Housing Authority 1976-2006, Advisory Board for the Mayor of Jacksonville (John Harden) for 18 years as well as being on the Board of Citizen's National Bank of Jacksonville. Ferrell also owned and operated Donnafill Company for 40 years. Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m., Saturday July 10, 2010 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock 501-835-3515 with interment to follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park. Rev. C.B. Wilson and Rev. Ted Grove officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
