Sharon Lynn Hathcoat

Sharon Lynn Hathcoat, age 54 of Gurdon, passed away at her home on Wednesday July 7th. She was born June 12, 1956 to Brooks and Benegene Benton. She was very committed to her jobs. She worked at the Clark County Sherrif's office and Gurdon Police Department as dispacher. She is preceded in death by her father Brooks Benton and her step-father "Pete" Cottingham. She is survived by her mother Benegene Cottingham of Gurdon, one sister Paula and husband Mahlon Grigsby of Hot Springs, and three daughters, Rebecca and husband Mark Carter of Bismark, Jennifer and fiance' Chris Thomas of Sherwood, and Lori and husband Jeff Rodgers of Gurdon. She has eight grandchildren, Ashlee, Loren, Charles and Cassie Carter, Aubree and Jordan Jackson, and Parker and Landon Rogers. She worked at the Clark County Sheriff's office for many years and at the Gurdon Police Department as dispatcher where she has developed very close friendships with many. She was a loving and giving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be: Darren Cooper, Chris Russell, Raymond Funderburk, Jim Pennington, Keeywone Delaney, Garry "B.J." Johns, David Buck, and Travis Vance. Honarary Pall Bears are the Clark County Sheriff's deputies and Gurdon Police Officers. Visitation will be: Friday July 9, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. Service will be: Saturday, July 10, 2010 in the Chapel of Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon with Bro. Randy Cox officiating. Internment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.
