Barbara E. Wood

Barbara Ellen Wood 98, of Indian Rock Village Fairfield Bay, Ark. formally of Little Rock and Illinois went to her heavenly home Thursday, July 8, 2010. She was born Dec. 23, 1911 at Marion County, Ark. to Baxter and Hattie (Wood) Hall. Her husband Rev. Carl Wood an Assembly of God minister preceded her in death. They pastored and pioneered many churches in Arkansas, Illinois, and California for 50 years. Barbara and Carl had nine children, three preceded her in death, Mitchell Wood, Vernon Wood, and Frieda Sharp. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters, and two grandsons. She is survived by six children, Willodean Sullivan of North Little Rock, Ark., Loy Wood and wife Jackie of Colona, Ill., Imodell Stewart and husband Elmer of Shirley, Ark., Travis Wood and wife Sharry of Hampton, Ill., Nell Werner and husband Jim of Springdale, Ark., Gay Rees and husband Lew of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren, and 20 step-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Casketbearers: Carl Sullivan, Marc Ross, Darian Ross, Ken Sullivan, Sammy Gately, and Paul Teer. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 at Maranatha Assembly of God Church Shirley, Ark. with Pastors Allen Freudenburg and George Woods officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Crawford Cemetery in the Everton, Ark. on Highway 206 fifteen miles south of Harrison, Arkansas.
