John Franklin Williams, Jr., 90, of Little Rock passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010. He was born on July 2, 1920 to Dr. John Franklin Williams, Sr. and Harriet (Nichols) Williams in Malvern, Arkansas. John served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked for many years at Bell Helicopter in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Unity Missionary Baptist Church. John loved to sing and play the guitar. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of over 63 years Elizabeth Volpert Williams; his brother Arthur E. Williams of Honolulu, Hawaii and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends, all who will miss him dearly. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Unity Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park at Alexander, Arkansas. Brother Mark Harris will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home.
