Gladys Mae Brown, 109, of Little Rock died July 11, 2010. She was born May 14, 1901 in Foreman, Arkansas the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Ada Cody Bishop. A member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, she was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed knitting and crochet; donated booties and baby caps for Arkansas Children's Hospital and Baptist Medical Center. She was an avid flower gardener and served as an officer in numerous garden clubs. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Brown, a daughter Jeanette Wise, daughter-in-law Nona Brown, five brothers and one sister. She is survived by a son, Jack E. Brown of Conway, three grandchildren, Jack Edward Brown, Jr. (Patty), Charles A. Brown (Debbie), and Frank Scherr (Sarah), great-grandchildren, Stephanie Cowert (Dustin), Matthew Brown (Summer), Taylor Brown, Wes Miller and Katie Miller and one great-great-grandson, Jackson David Cowert. The family would like to thank the staff of Parkway Health Center for their loving care and thoughtfulness. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 15th at Pulaski Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Hyde officiating. Emtombment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m., Thursday until service time at the church. Memorials may be made to Pulaski Heights Baptist Church, 2200 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, Ark. 72205.
