Marie Florine McCormack Stoddard Marr, 92, of Little Rock, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Florine was born in 1917 to Mattie Pearl and Hugh C. McCormack in Washington, Arkansas. She was raised in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock Senior High and Draughons Business School. She married Elmer Gene Stoddard and together, they owned and operated Hillcrest Cleaners, and were long-time members of Pulaski Heights Christian Church. Florine liked to sew and made many beautiful clothes and things for the home. She also liked to watch and feed the birds, especially in her later years. She enjoyed going to a lake house in Hot Springs which they built for retirement years. Gene Stoddard, her first husband, died in 1975, and Florine continued to manage the family business with help from her children. She married her second husband, Lyale Marr in 1986 and soon retired from the family business. She was preceded in death by her parents and her only sister, Florence Elizabeth McCormack Schneider, her first husband Gene Stoddard, and second husband, Lyale Marr. Florine is survived by a daughter, Billie Jean DeLay and son-in-law, Richard DeLay; a son, Charles "Bud" Stoddard and daughter-in-law, Reba Highfill Stoddard of Benton; two stepsons, Fred Marr of Texas and Richard Marr of Georgia. She also leaves to cherish her memory four grandchildren, Ricky DeLay (Sharon) of Little Rock, Renee Swindell (Kevin) of Bentonville, Randy DeLay (Tina) of Benton and Greg Stoddard of Bigelow; seven great-grandchildren, Tad, Cody, Shelby, Shannon, Tyler and Kaylee DeLay, and Allison Swindell; special niece, Sherry Price; nephew, Ricky Schneider of Hot Springs; and many cousins and other relatives. Florine also leaves a special spoiled Chihauhua "Missy" who is a lap-dog and was lots of company to her. A graveside service will be held 9:30 a.m., Monday, July 19, 2010, at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
