Dorothy Reaves

Dorothy Watson Reaves, 86, of Searcy, Ark., died Friday, July 16, 2010. She was born in Octa, Mo., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Watson. She was a graduate of Deering High School, Deering, Mo., On April 5, 1947, she married M.J. Reaves at New Madrid, Mo. They resided in Southeast Missouri until moving to Searcy to be near their family in 1999. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and worshiped at Westside Church of Christ in Searcy. She is survived by daughters, Carol (Larry) Burchfield and Becky (Ralph) Bennett of Searcy; Linda (Robert) Crossett, Bartlett, Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Pat Reaves, Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Leanne Burchfield Pumphrey (Jeremy), Conway, Chad Burchfield (Heather), Searcy, Matt Reaves (Kelly) and Sarah Reaves, Nashville, Tennessee, Mallory and Marlee Bennett, Searcy, and Juliana Crossett, Bartlett, Tenn.; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Joseph and Abbey Burchfield, Searcy, and Lauren and Caroline Pumphrey, Conway; two sisters, Venita Woods and Terry Hudgens; one brother, Paul (Ann) Watson. She was preceded in death by her husband, M. J., on Dec. 18, 2009; her parents; a son, Charles Reaves; an infant grandson; two sisters, Dean Belew and Joann Yates; one brother, Curtis Watson. The family would like to thank Ms. Glenda McAbee, Mrs. Shirley DeWitt and the staff of Hospice Home Care for their loving care and thoughtfulness. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Powell Funeral Chapel in Searcy. The family will greet friends following the service. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 prior to service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
