Vera Lorene Underwood Watkins

VERA LORENE UNDERWOOD WATKINS was born on Oct. 2, 1922, in Overcup, Ark. and passed away on July 3, 2010, in Omaha, Neb. She was preceded in death by husband William (Bill) Watkins and by brothers Sam, Afton, Edward. Duane, Elmoe and Carroll. She is survived by her daughter Judy Ford and son-in-law Jim of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters: Clarisa Holt of Ceres, Calif. and Arlona Diggins of Ramona, Calif.; grandsons Jason Ford of Bolivar, Mo. and Brant Ford of Las Vegas, Nev., as well as many, many loving nieces and nephews. Vera retired from the Veterans Administration in Little Rock in 1980. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church for 43 years. She lived in Little Rock until 2004 when she moved to Omaha, Neb. to be near her daughter. Service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1700 Napa Valley Drive, Little Rock, Ark. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
