Nicky Daniel Bacon

Nicky Daniel Bacon, U.S. Army First Sergeant Retired, 64 of Rose Bud, Arkansas, passed from this life into the arms of the Lord on July, 17, 2010. He was born November 25, 1945 in Caraway, Arkansas to the late John and Jean Bacon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Doyle Meadows, and a sister, Wanda Lindgren. He is survived by his wife, Tamera of 28 years, six children, Britt, Wyatt, James (Tracy), Kristy DeKort (Ron), Kim Beck (Earl) and William Tohnika (Claudia); numerous grandchildren; four sisters, Jenney Hendricks, Brenda Callaway, Hope Petite, Judy Foskett; two brothers, John Bacon and Andy Bacon. Nicky Daniel Bacon was awarded the Medal of Honor in 1968 by President Nixon. Other awards include the Distinguished Service Cross, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, and numerous other achievements and awards. He was also past Director of the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. Bacon's Memorial Services will be Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery located in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
