Ralph Dale Walley

Jacksonville, AR, 1919 - 2010

Ralph Dale Walley, age 90, of Jacksonville passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Woodland Hills Nursing Center. He was born September 23, 1919 in Plummerville, Arkansas to the late Jasper Newton Walley and Georgia Pearl Ballard Walley. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. He was a WWII veteran and served in the 101st Airborne Division on D-Day. He retired from the military in the U.S. Air Force after 24 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude C. (Meyer) Walley, daughter, Mary C. Thurman of Shawnee, Kansas; sons, Dale A. Walley of Houston, Texas, and Robert V. Walley of Jacksonville, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Jacksonville with Father Andy Smith officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday at the church followed by a Rosary. Memorials may be made to The Humane Society and Arkansas Hospice.
