James Edward Spears (Jimmy), 66, of Gravel Ridge went to rest on July 28, 2010. He was born April 10, 1944 in Jacksonville to James E. and Flora L. Spears Johnson. Jimmy was a kindhearted man who worked in the outdoors most of his life. His main pleasure was sitting on the riverbank with a fishing pole in his hand.
He is predeceased by his father James E. Spears, stepfather, George Johnson, wife Sandra Spears, and a sister, Patricia Johnson. Survivors include his mother Flora L. Johnson, daughter, Robin Jackson; sons, Jessie Spears, and Chris Spears; sisters, Diane (Randall) Davis, Betty (Richard) Wright, Georgia Palmer, Brenda (Charles) Rettstatt; brothers, Wesley (Mary) Johnson, Michael (Jill) Johnson; two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his very good friend, Mary Millien.
Visitation, Monday, August 2, 2010 from 9-10 a.m., with funeral services following at 10:30 a.m. in Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke. Burial will be in Lonoke Cemetery.
