Mary Trimble Maier

Mary Trimble Maier, 82, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born November 6, 1927, in El Dorado, Arkansas, the daughter of Lena Goodwin Trimble and John Dyer Trimble. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Maier, Jr., and her daughter, Nancy Cooper Maier. She was educated at Lindenwood College for Women, in St. Charles, Missouri, and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity. She devoted her life to her family, her friends and her churches. She served in the developments of Arkansas Children's Hospital and the University of Arkansas. In her later years, Mary enjoyed spending late summer and fall with her many friends in Manchester Center, Vermont. Mary is survived by her sister, Jean Turner Brewer, her brother, John Dyer Trimble Jr., her daughter, Marilyn Maier Fincher, her son-in-law, Edward Raley Fincher, her grandson, Edward Raley Maier Fincher, and her son, John Lewis Maier. There will be a memorial service at First United Methodist Church, McGehee, Arkansas, on Tuesday, August 3 at 2 p.m., conducted by Reverend Henry Ratliff. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of McGehee, Central United Methodist Church of Fayetteville, Arkansas Children's Hospital, the University of Arkansas, or Southern Vermont Arts Center.
