Gwendolyn Carrol Richards, 59, of Osceola, stepped into Heaven, Saturday, May 29, 2010, from the University of Arkansas Medical Science Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. Cause of early departure was lymphoma cancer and related complications. She was born in Blytheville, Ark. March 29, 1951 to Betty Duncan and the late Charles Duncan along with her twin brother, Gayle Wayne Duncan, of Little Rock, Ark. Gwendolyn was a lifelong Christian, holding affiliations with Calvary Baptist Church, First Assembly of God, and Church of God in Osceola, and a current member of Pathway Church of God in Blytheville, Ark. where she enjoyed playing her clarinet, teaching Sunday School and attending regular prayer meetings. Gwendolyn was employed at South Mississippi County School District where she was an Elementary School Teacher for three years after being a faithful mother and wife as a homemaker for 29 years, preceded by seven years of teaching kindergarten in Luxora, Ark. Gwendolyn leaves behind her beloved husband of 34 years, Gilbert W. Richards of Osceola; Five daughters, Marlo, Crystal, Laura, Lisa, and Katherine Richards of Jonesboro, Ark.; her mother, Betty Duncan of Osceola; a sister, Rebekah Roberson (and Randy and Marissa) of Gosnell; Three brothers, Charles Duncan (and Roseanne) of Osceola; Phillip Duncan (and Cheri), and Wayne Duncan (and Ma Rita) of Little Rock; and son-in-law to be, Chad Sturkie of Paragould, Ark. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Pathway Church of God in Blytheville.
