Inez P. Stafford, 87, of Harrison, Ark., formerly of Green Forest, Ark. passed away May 30, at her home. The daughter of Rev. Gus and Alice (Verser) Poole, she was born December 1, 1922 in Brownsville, Ark. She professed her faith in Christ and was baptized at the age of 12. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Green Forest for 61 years, where she served as church organist and Sunday School Teacher for various children's and youth classes. At the time of her death she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrison and served on the Medical Mission Team. In the 1940's she taught school in Green Forest and in the Grim Community. She also worked with her husband Clyde at the First National Bank of Green Forest and retired in 1985 as an Assistant Vice President after 40 years of service. She married Clyde Logan Stafford, February 7, 1942, who preceded her in death after 57 years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by an infant brother, A.G. Poole. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Cindy Stafford of Harrison, Ark.; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Mark Ratliff of Maumelle, Ark.; brother and sister-in-law Glyn and Rosemary Poole of Denton, TX; sisters-in-law, Pauline McCormick and Beth Stafford both of Green Forest and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eugene and Joan Stafford of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her grandchildren Allan Stafford and his wife Sarah of Lowell, Ark., Ryan Stafford of Palm Coast, Fla.; Blake Ratliff and Katelyn Ratliff of Maumelle, Ark.; and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Naomi Phillips. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mercy St. John's Hospice Care Team and Caregiver, Mary. Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Nelson's Green Forest Chapel in Green Forest, AR. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 4, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Green Forest with Reverend Tom Wood & Reverend Rob Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
