Oscar Clifton Shackelford, 75, of Camden, Ark. passed away on May 31, 2010 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Born December 1, 1934 in Glenville, Ark. and raised in Waldo, AR. He was a graduate of Waldo High School and Henderson State University. He was a member of Timothy Methodist Church in Camden.
Oscar is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Essie Shackelford; his brother, Tom Shackelford, and his late wife, Martha "Mott" Shackelford. Oscar is survived by his wife, Sue Shackelford of Camden; two sons, Mark Shackelford of Holly Springs and Cliff Shackelford and wife, Lori of Hampton; two stepsons, David McClellan of Camden and John McClellan of Crossett; brother, Cecil "Buddy" Shackelford of Waldo; sister, Louise Cronin of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Heather, Chris, and Brooke; and five great-grandchildren, Kylie, Caleb, McKenzie, Carter, and Wade. Oscar's hobbies included hunting, fishing, visiting with friends and family, watching sports, and reminiscing about his coaching days at Sparkman.
Visitation will be at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden on Wednesday, June 2nd, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at Ouachita Baptist Church in Ouachita on Thursday, June 3rd, at 10 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Ouachita.
