Mary Louise Jumper died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the age of 94. Born November 2, 1915, in Okolona, Arkansas, to Irma Wilkins and Frank Sloan East. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Jumper, and daughter, Mary Anne Jumper Hauschild. Survivors are her son, Jack Jumper and wife Karen of Conway; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jack Jumper III, and son Cody of Conway; Alison Jumper (Jon Bitler) of Fayetteville; Michelle Hardin (Byron) and son Garrett of Coppell, Texas; Karen Agahi, daughter Julia of Allen, Texas, and daughter Ashley Logan (Nathan) of Plano, Texas; Gretchen Scott (David) and daughters, Josephine, Elizabeth and Madison of Grand Prairie, Texas; Kristine Pikulinski (James) and sons, Ian and Aiden of Grapevine, Texas. Mrs. Jumper was a member of First United Methodist Church of Conway. She was a graduate of Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA) and also attended Columbia University in New York City. She later was employed by Conway Public Schools as a secretary for 18 years. She then wrote a column for the Log Cabin Democrat. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2010, in the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church in Conway, with the Reverend Charles Murry officiating. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 6, at the home of Jack and Karen Jumper, 25 Timothy Lane, Conway. Mrs. Jumper will lie in state on Sunday, at the funeral home, until 9 p.m. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery will be private.
