Charles Edward Clark, age 77, of Berlin Heights, died Thursday, June 3, at New Life Hospice in Lorain. He was born on Feb. 20, 1933 in McCrory, Ark. and has lived in the Berlin Heights area for 40 years. He graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1951, where he excelled in basketball, baseball and track. He received a basketball scholarship to attend Little Rock Junior College. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army and was selected for the Army All Star Baseball Team. When discharged, he was signed by the New York Giants and played in their minor leagues for two years. Following that, he worked as a supervisor for Ford Motor Company for 27 years. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Debbie (Denny) Middleton, of Vermilion, sons Scott (Marcia) Clark, of Calif., Greg Clark, of Berlin Heights, Gary (Michele) Clark, of Monroeville; seven grandchildren Traci (John) McGraw, Amy Micheli, Kristi Middleton, Saralynn, Corrin, Aaron, and Taryn Clark; three great-grandchildren, Kelsea, Kasey, and Kylee McGraw; a sister Carolyn (Albie) Waldo, of Conroe, Texas; brother Marion (Mary) Clark, of Angola, Ind.; sister-in-law Shirley Clark, of Cabot, Ark.; several nieces and nephews; and two step-children Kim (Dan) Masterson and Mark (Sharon) Uhl. He was preceded in death by his previous wife Kim; his parents Lon and Wilma (Gibson) Clark; brothers Durward and Robert; and a sister-in-law Madeline. A memorial service will be held on Monday June 7, at 6 p.m. followed by food and fellowship at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights.
