George Winston Smith

George Winston Smith, age 76, of Alexander, passed away Tuesday June 8, 2010. He was born February 17, 1934 in Tull, Arkansas to the late Willie and Fronia Smith. Mr. Smith worked for many years for N.P. Alessi Construction. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Ronald Wayne Smith, brother, Leroy Smith, sisters, Joyce Williams, Linda Kay Hostetter, Shirley Kocsis, Carolyn Puckett and granddaughter, Kassidy Smith. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Wetherington Smith; three sons, Travis Smith and wife, Sophia of Leander, Texas, Dennis Smith and wife, Melinda of Alexander, David Smith serving in U.S. Marine Corps in Afghanistan, two daughters, Pamela Smith and Sarah Smith of Alexander, brother, Larry Smith and wife, Patti of Little Rock, sister, Myrt Gatlin and husband, Tommy of Little Rock, sister-in-law, Bernice Smith of Little Rock, six grandchildren, Bryan, Michael, Randy Smith, Skylar Marie Mathis of Alexander, Travis and Corey Smith of Leander, Texas, six great grandchildren, Christian, Jordan, Kaylee, Jeremiah, Zechariah, Brianna Smith and numerous nieces and nephews. Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10 a.m. Saturday with Bro. Paul Holderfield officiating. Burial will follow in Wood Cemetery.
