Jason Scott Rotton

Jason Scott Rotton, 34, of Lake Village, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010, near Knobel, Arkansas, from injuries sustained in a plane crash. He was an agricultural pilot having obtained his license in 2006. He became interested in flying as a young boy and made it his goal in life to become an ag pilot. He graduated from Montrose Academy in 1994. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, former member of the Lakeport Fire Department, a member of the Arkansas City Volunteer Fire Department and Arkansas City Auxiliary Police Department and a member of Bayou Mason Baptist Church. He was born May 13, 1976, in Lake Village, Arkansas, to Curtis Ray Rotton and Linda Gail Gearing Rotton. He was preceded in death by his cousin, Angela Elaine Rotton, and his grandfather, Arvel F. "Red" Gearing Sr. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Kenneth Allan Rotton, his grandmother, Peggy B. Gearing, both of Lake Village, his grandparents, Curtis M. Rotton and Hazel Rotton of Portland, aunts and uncles, Arvel F. Gearing Jr., of Lake Village, Roy H. Rotton of Portland, Joel and Shirley Rotton of Eudora, and Cathy and Dewel Williamson of Parkdale, cousins, Christopher Rotton of Fayetteville, Rachel and Derek Byrd of Lake Village, Meagan and Bryan Hall of Portland, Arvel F. "Trey" Gearing, III of Lake Village, and Derrick Williamson and John Curtis Williamson of Parkdale. Visitation will be at Bishop Funeral Home on Friday, June 11th, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 12th, at 10 a.m. at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Lake Village Cemetery. Arrangements are by Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village. Pallbearers are Derek Byrd, Bryan Hall, Scott Standridge, David Glosup, Al Patrick and Jason Gregg.
