Nancy H. LaPrade

Nancy H. LaPrade, 72, of 380 Oakwood Drive, Danville, Va. died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Danville Regional Medical Center. She was born December 31, 1937 in Chicago, Ill. the daughter of Dr. Albert E. Sidwell and Alys Aaron Sidwell. Ms. LaPrade worked at the NCO club at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri and later at the jewelry counter of Wal-Mart in Jacksonville, Ark. She was once married to James Woodrow LaPrade, who died March 9, 1994. Survivors include her children, Karen Nolan and husband, Ron of Olathe, Kan., Kelly Davis and husband, Jim of Danville and James Michael LaPrade of Chatham; a step-son, James Bryan LaPrade and wife, Donna of Eden, N.C.; a brother, David Sidwell and wife, RaeLeah of Omaha, NB; a sister, Linda Sidwell and life partner, Cris Jennings of Nevada City, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Frances Young Aries of Danville; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and her devoted friends in the Jacksonville area. The family will gather to celebrate her life on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel and at other times at the residence.
