ANGELA L. THOMPSON, 53, of Mabelvale went to Heaven on June 11, 2010 to scout out the best fishing holes for her best friend and husband, Frank, and herself. She will also be waiting for her kids and grandkids to join her in heaven. Angela was very proud of helping people understand that mental illness is a physical illness and not a cause for shame. Her book, "Where the Heck is That Place Called Hope?" and talking with people about her own struggles played a role in changing concepts of mental illness. Angela was born on Sept. 23, 1956 to the late Howard and Jimmie Louise Hughes in Little Rock, Ark. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Frank; one daughter, Brandy Thompson; one son, Scott Thompson; two grandchildren, Lexi and Jordyn Thompson; mother in law, Doris Thompson; brother, Steve Hughes and many other relatives and friends who all love her and will miss her dearly. There will be a casual, informal gathering at the graveside at Pinecrest Memorial Park on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements provided by Dial and Dudley Funeral Home. To sign Angela's online guest book visit www.dialanddudleyfuneralhome.com.
