Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Lenihan Gilmore Glancy was born in St. Louis, Mo. on Feb. 2, 1925 and passed away on Friday, June 11, 2010 at the age of 85. The only child of the late Hazel and Owen Lenihan. She is survived by her husband, Thomas H. Glancy and his granddaughter Jill Glancy and his grandson Thomas Glancy; her daughter, Mary Sharon Gilmore of Albuquerque, N.M. and her partner Linda Cecil; her daughter Mary Gilmore Maurer of Chatham, N.J. and her husband, John, their children Katie, Elizabeth and John; her son, William Tell Gilmore III of St. Louis, Mo. and his wife Catherine Conran, and their children, Maggie, Emily and Peter. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William "Buster" Gilmore. Mrs. Glancy was a graduate of Visitation Academy and St. John's Hospital School of Nursing both in St. Louis, Mo. She was a Lady of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher, the past president of the Holy Souls Alter Society, co-founder of the Ecumenical Lecture Series, charter member of both the Panel of American Women and of the N.C.C.J. Discussion Group Program, past board member both the Fine Arts Club and the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Society Guild, former member of Carti Auxillary, Contact Ministry, Stocks & Stitches, the Saint Joseph Discussion Club and the Diocesan Ecumenical Commision. She was a longtime resident of Little Rock, Arkansas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, with Monsignor Francis Malone as celebrant. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
