William Jack King

Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) William Jack King , age 91, of Arkadelphia, Ark. died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at home surrounded by family. Col. King is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Allen King; a son William Jack King Jr. and wife Roberta of Benton; a daughter Pamela King Young and husband Cary of Pine Bluff; a granddaughter, Mary Carole Young Crane and husband Dr. Christopher Crane of Little Rock; and grandson, Robert Carrington Young of Little Rock. Col. King was a graduate of Bob Jones University and attended Southwest Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He was an ordained Southern Baptist minister and a line officer in the US Army for 26 years, including service as the Professor of Military Science at Ouachita Baptist University. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Arkadelphia, on Tuesday, June 15 at 10 a.m. Visitation will precede the service. Interment will be at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock. Memorials may be made to the prayer chapel fund of First Baptist Church, Arkadelphia.
