Connis Elizabeth Barnett, age 56, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010, at her residence. She was born August 4, 1953, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, to J.D. and Allena (Keeter) Dryer. Connie married the love of her life, Roger Barnett on August 12, 1973, in Mountain Home. She graduated from the Mountain Home High School in 1971 and attended the Arkansas State University at Jonesboro. She had a 34-year banking career working in management positions through four bank transitions and retired as Senior Vice President/Business Development with First National Bank and Trust Company of Mountain Home. Connie was a member of First Baptist Church where she was very active in Joy in the Morning, the Beth Moore conference, and the Leadership Summit. She was involved in various community activities including the Red White and Blue festival, Peek-a-Boutique, and Partners in Education. Her hobbies included fishing, gardening, vacationing and lying on the beach, and she especially loved helping others in the community through her many volunteer activities. Connie is survived by her husband, Roger Barnett, of Mountain Home; a daughter, Sara Ivory, of Mountain Home; a son, Brian Barnett and friend Ashton Williams of Mountain Home; two grandchildren: Jacob Barnett and Xavier Ivory both of Mountain Home; a sister, Rebecca Smith-Murdock, and husband Mike Murdock of Olympia, Washington; Ed Coulter and wife Lucretia of Mountain Home; Karen Dewey and husband Alfred of Mountain Home; Mike Barnett and wife Jill of Hot Springs, AR; Harold Barnett and wife Jorene of Mountain Home as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Fran Coulter. Memorial services will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Mountain Home with Reverend Dr. David Johnson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Home Education Foundation, 2465 Rodeo Drive, Mountain Home, Ark. 72653 or Partners in Education at Pinkston Middle School, 1310 South College, Mountain Home, Ark. 72653.
