Hartis Washington, 83, of Jacksonville, Arkansas went to be with our Lord on June 11, 2010. A devoted husband and father he loved God with all his heart and served him faithfully until his health failed. Hartis worked for the city of Jacksonville for over 40 years. A member of C.O.J.C. in Brushy Island for over 60 years. He leaves to cherish his life, wife of 59 years, Mrs. Flossie Mae Washington, eight sons James (Carolyn) Brown of Richmond, Calif., Connell Washington, William (Paula) Washington Sr., Charles (Katrina) Washington, Herman Washington Sr., Terrence (Tina) Washington, Allen Washington all of Jacksonville, Ark., and Vernon Washington Sr. of Killeen, Texas; six daughters, Leatha (William) Whitley of Austin, Texas, Inella Miller of Lonoke, Ark., Ethel Washington, Ella (Floyd) Brown and Lurice Reed all of Jacksonville, Ark., Linda Rockamore of Lawton Okla. brother, Curtis Washington Sr., 44 grandchildren a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation June 18th, 6-7 p.m. at Superior. Service held June 19th 11 a.m., First Pentecostal Church, 5302 Jacksonville Hwy., Superior Funeral Service 5017 East Broadway 501-945-9922.
