Brent Edward Coker, 25, of Little Rock died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, while attending the US Open at Pebble Beach, California with his dad. He was born in Little Rock on March 26, 1985. A graduate of Pulaski Academy, he attended the University of Arkansas from 2004 through 2007, where he majored in Business Administration. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was employed in the insurance business at The ASA Group in Little Rock. His hobbies included, golf, skiing, hunting (duck & deer), outdoor sports and loved the Dallas Cowboys. He was currently participating in a mixed volleyball league and although they were the youngest team, they were in 1st place at the time. Brent was blessed with many friends who valued his friendship. He was very loyal to both friends and those he worked with. He enjoyed people and mixing with them. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reverend William Richard Vestal and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Coker and a cousin, Kathy Jaycox. Survivors include his father, Daryl Coker; his mother, Candy Ramsey and her husband, Walter "Jiggs" Ramsey; a brother, Brian Coker; stepbrother, Luke Ramsey; and step-sister, Lisa Schaffer and her husband, Archie; his grandmother, Mrs. William Richard (Berniece) Vestal; cousins, Kemp Jaycox and Laura Calhoun, Vivian and Quincy Schaffer; and his special friend, Catherine Chaterlain. A celebration of Brent's life will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Sunday at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300.
