Joel E. Traylor, age 70, of Hot Springs, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Joel was born on April 7, 1940, at Moro, Arkansas, the son of G. W. Traylor and Mary C. Barner Traylor. On April 29, 1966, he was married to Sharon Harris. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lonnie "AP" Traylor, and one sister, Louise Traylor. Joel was Assembly of God in faith and worked for McCulloch Motors for 21 years, as a Senior Planner, and retired after 10 years with Honeywell, as a Senior Planner. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sharon Traylor of Hot Springs; his loving pet Jack Russell Terrier, "Skipper"; three brothers, Sidney Traylor of Springdale, Billy J. Traylor of Albany, Oregon and Drury Traylor of Brinkley; four sisters, Ceil Ballenger of Benton, Lillie Campbell of Cabot, Margie Jones of Dallas, Texas, and Jewell Higgens of Alta Loma, California; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m, Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Allan Humphreys officiating, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ryan Sebring, Mirko Krneta, Drury Traylor, Keith Traylor, Sid Sebring and Sidney Traylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Ward, Don Culotti and Billy J. Traylor. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Kevin Hale and the entire staff of Hamilton West Family Medicine. They would also like to thank everyone who participated in Joel's care at St. Joseph's Mercy Health Center and Advance Care Hospital.
