SPC. William "Chris" Yauch, 23, of Batesville, died Friday, June 11, 2010 in Iraq. He was born December 24, 1986 in Harrison, Arkansas and was the son of Lucretia Robertson and Kurt Yauch. He graduated from Batesville High School in 2005. On February 16, 2008, he married Mallory Rhodes. He was with Bravo Company, 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment serving in Jalula, Iraq. He was a member of the North Heights Church of Christ. He enjoyed paint ball, riding his motorcycle, and loved tinkering with his car. Chris is survived by his wife: Mallory (Rhodes) Yauch; of the home; his mother and step-father, Lucretia and Dennis Robertson of Cave City, Arkansas; father and step-mother, Kurt and Debbie Yauch of St. Charles, Missouri; four step-sisters: Jenny Bush and Rachel Bush both of London, England; Barbara Canada of Cave City; and Brenda Russell of Layette, Louisiana; grandmother, Anita Joan Fowler of Rosie, Arkansas; great-grandmother, Geraldine Pierce of Southside; mother-in-law, Rita Rhodes; father-in-law, Gary Rhodes. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bill & Nancy Yauch and Don Ray Fowler; and great-grandfather, Emil Pierce. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday at the North Heights Church of Christ with Steve Norris officiating. Burial will follow the services at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
