Fareedah Muhammad

FAREEDAH MUHAMMAD a.k.a. RITA FAY HIGGINS, 51, of Little Rock, Ark. was born Oct. 4, 1958 in Little Rock, Ark. to the late Henry Drew Higgins and Edna Washington Higgins. She departed this earth after a brief illness on June 24, 2010. This family included three sisters, Deborah Higgins, Cynthia Higgins, Barbara Higgins Bond; and three brothers, Henry Higgins Jr., Ray Higgins (Susan), Dayne Higgins; and one sister, Cydney Higgins. Fareedah graduated from Little Rock Central High and later furthered her professional training. She spent many years employed as a home healthcare worker. She was married to the late Joe Muhammad and to that union two children were born, Yusuf and Tauhearah By-yon Muhammad; and ten grandchildren. Her long time companion, Kirby Stanfield, also survives her. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010, 1 p.m., at Ruffin and Jarrett Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 Chester Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72202 (501) 372-1305. A private interment will follow.
