John Baldwin Jr., 85, of Greenbrier, died June 27, 2010, at his home. He was born March 28, 1925 in Beaudry, Arkansas the son of the late John Albert and Pearl Baldwin. He was also preceded in death by this wife, Altha Faye (Sexton) Baldwin; his sisters, Charlotte Newkirk, Orpha Baldwin; and his brother, Ikey Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin was both a loving husband and a caring father that took great pride in his family. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church for over 48 years. He served in many capacities with the church over the years, but his service as usher will always be remembered. Mr. Baldwin graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Agriculture. He worked at the Arkansas State Plant Board for 28 years, eventually serving as Head of the Seed Certification Department until his retirement in 1986. He is survived by his son, Mike Baldwin and wife Kelly of Conway; his daughter, Kathy Dugger and husband Sam of Powder Springs, Georgia; grandchildren, Garrett, and Kati Baldwin of Conway; and Tonya Dugger of Powder Springs, Georgia; nephew, Phillip Baldwin and wife Jan of Little Rock; nephew, Donald Sexton of Cave City; nephew, Daniel Sexton of Conway and niece, Linda Crabtree and husband Gary of Conway. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home in Little Rock. Funeral will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Unity Missionary Baptist Church, 1223 Garfield Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas, 72204. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery, near Jessieville, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.
