Dorothy "Anne" Walton Ballew Wilson, 81 year old resident of Springdale, Arkansas, died October 31, 2010, in Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born January 22, 1929, in Navarro County, Texas, she was the daughter of John Walton and Lida "Dot" Varnell Walton and was reared in Barry, Texas, where she attended school. Mrs. Wilson had been an area resident the past 13 years and had moved to the area from Ovilla, Texas. She had graduated with a Master's Degree from the University of North Texas and was a school teacher in Duncanville, Texas, for 25 years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of Texas. A member of First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, for many years, she had attended Cross Pointe Community Church in Tontitown, Arkansas, in recent years. Anne was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Raymond Douglas Ballew. Survivors include her husband Bob Wilson of the home; one son, Robert Ballew and his wife Kathy of Katy, Texas; one daughter, Rosanne Ballew Petton and her husband Larry of Springdale, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Ashley Robert Ballew and wife Lena Cruz of Houston, Texas; Christopher Michael Ballew of Baytown, Texas; Katie Alise Petton of Dallas, Texas; Nicolas Andrew Ballew and his wife Tina Medrano of Lake Jackson, Texas; and Andy Petton of Hoboken, New Jersey; two great-grandchildren, Ashten Cruz Ballew and Juliana Nevaeh Ballew. Visitation was held Monday, November 1, from 6-8 p.m. at Wasson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 3, at 2 p.m. at Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana, Texas with Pastor Larry Petton officiating. Burial will be in Dresden Cemetery near Blooming Grove, Texas. Memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of Dallas, c/o New Building Fund, 1707 San Jacinto, Dallas, Texas 75201. Local arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home.
