Gus Brady, 71, of Maumelle was born March 12th, 1939 in Eudora, Arkansas to the late Turner Brady and Mildred Ashley Brady and passed away on Sunday, October 31st, 2010 in Little Rock. Mr. Brady was the owner and operator of So-Big Day Care and was an award winning artist. Some of his favorite pastimes included traveling, going to the horse races and sporting events. He graduated from Eudora High School in 1957 where he received a Basketball Scholarship and attended both Ouachita Collage and UALR. Early in his career he worked for Peerless Engraving as a Commercial Artist. Mr. Brady attended First United Methodist Church in Maumelle and was a former member of Amboy Baptist Church; he also served as a former president of the North Little Rock School Board. He is survived by his children Barry Brady (Pat) of Conway, Bart Brady (Andrea) of Cabot, Beth Brady Miller (Mark) of Georgia, Brittany Brady McClure (Billy Wayne) of Gurdon, Barrett Brady Dudley (Katie) of Little Rock and Barbett Brady Dudley of Minneapolis, Minn. Other survivors include one brother, Jim Wade Brady (Judy) of Maumelle, nine grandchildren and his former wife Barbara Jo Dudley. He is preceded in death by his first wife Mary Brady and one sister, Bertha Faye. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Arts Center or Arkansas Children's Hospital Research Institute. A visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock, 501-835-3515 on Wednesday, November 3rd, from 6-8 p.m. and Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 4th, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Chapel.
