Mattie Hendrix Medlock of Mansfield, Texas, formerly of Little Rock, Ark., was born February 7, 1931 to Mr. Robert Hendrix and Mrs. Rachel Hendrix, in Little Rock, Ark. She departed this life peacefully Friday, Oct. 28, 2010 in Mansfield, Texas. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Little Rock, Ark. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: daughters, Gwen Miller of Little Rock, Ark., Jacquetta Peace (Ronal) of Alvarado, Texas, Deborah Milliken (Vernon) of Villa Rica, Ga., Carolyn Akinyemi (Akintola) of Aurora, Colo., and Felisa Watson (Tony) of Ft. Worth, Texas; one son, Albert Lewis Partman (Beverly) of North Richland Hills, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other loving relatives and friends. She retired from Arkansas Children's Hospital, Little Rock, Ark., after 31 years of service. Mrs. Medlock was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Albert and Nathaniel Hendrix, Henry Frazier, Jr. Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Carstella Wilson, Durham, N.C., and an infant son. The family expresses gratitude to the doctors and nurses of Mansfield Methodist Hospital, Mansfield, Texas; the warm and caring staff of The Plaza at Mansfield Nursing Facility, Mansfield, Texas and Odyssey Hospice Service of Mansfield, Texas. Family hour will be held Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, 6-7 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 Chester Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72202 (501) 372-1305. Services will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, 908 Cross Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72202, with Pastor Rickey Lawson, Officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
