Gloria Smith Ringgold

Gloria Smith Ringgold, 65, of Beebe, Arkansas died Tuesday, November 2, 2010. She was born October 21, 1945 in Little Rock to the late Charles E. Smith Sr. and Kathleen Martin Smith. She was a graduate of Little Rock Central High School. She worked for 41 years at Applied Industrial Technology as a branch operations manager. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church where she was active in the church choir and Sunday School. She also enjoyed traveling and dining at fine restaurants. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Thomas Ringgold; two sons, Kenneth Eugene Nipper of Little Rock, Arkansas and Martin Phillip Nipper and wife Sherrey of Lithia, Florida; four sisters, Margaret Helen Shamburger of Owasso, Oklahoma, Mary K. Smith of Cabot, Arkansas, Geneva Sproles of Norfork, Arkansas and Lois Morrow of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; three brothers, Charles E. Smith Jr., James Martin Smith and Carl Hoyt Smith, all of Little Rock, Arkansas; as well as two grandchildren, Brenna Rene′ Nipper and Anna Michelle Nipper. Memorial services will be 12 noon, Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Cabot with Rev. Paul Wooley and Rev. Jason Sutlin officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m., Saturday at the church prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beebe Public Library.
