JAMES MOELLER CHRONISTER of North Little Rock was born on May 23, 1929 and died on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010. He was preceded in death by his son, James M. Chronister, Jr., his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Chronister, his brother, Lt. L.R. Chronister Jr., and his father in law and mother in law, Mr. and Mrs. O. N. Gowen. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Chronister; his daughter and son in law, JoBeth and Bob Halferty; his daughter and son in law Jan and Billy Takewell; his daughter in law, Joy Chronister; a special cousin, Martha Bittner and her family; his grandson Jeff Holsted and wife Crystal, and children Jacie and Lauren; his grandson Adam Holsted and wife Crystal and children Jacob, Kobie and Dylan; his grandson Joshua Chronister; his granddaughter Ashley Chronister and son Jordan; his grandson William Takewell; his granddaughters, Mary Takewell and Charlotte Takewell; his granddaughter Vicki and husband Steve Walker and children Emily and Carley; and his granddaughter Megan Halferty and son Robert. Jim was an active member of Lakewood United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, a member of Joyful Noise Choir, and the George Martin Sunday School Class. He was president of Fish Lake Hunting and Fishing Club. He was an avid fisherman. Jim had many friends. He loved his God, his family, his friends, his dog Sam, and most everyone he met. Memorials may be made to Lakewood United Methodist Church, 1922 Topf Rd., North Little Rock, Ark., 72116. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Lakewood United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park following the service. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, 758-1170.
