Sofia Celia Ybarnegaray de Ogard, beloved wife and cherished mother, passed away on Oct. 26, 2010. She passed as she had lived, with peaceful grace and dignity, and has joined her husband Norris who passed in 2006. Born and raised in Bolivia, Sofia met and married her husband, and emigrated to the United States in 1949. Settling in Minneapolis and later Duluth, Sofia obtained a second degree and teaching certificate from the University of Minnesota. From the mid-1960's to the mid-1980's, Sofia touched the lives of hundreds of young people, teaching Spanish at Morgan Park, Denfeld and East High Schools and Woodland Jr. High. She is survived by her sister, Marta Y de Puente; her children, Norris, John and Karen; and her grandsons, Douglas, Jacob, Erik, and Gregory. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 12th, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bella Vista, Ark. A social gathering will follow at Concordia Village, Bella Vista, Ark.
