William Earl Hicks

William Earl Hicks, 83, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010. He was born in Lee County, Ark. on Dec. 8, 1926, to John William earl Hicks and Jessie Lou Beadles Hicks. He was a rice farmer and worked for Grizzle Farms. Later, he worked for James Metcalf Farms until his retirement. he was Pentecostal by faith. He married the love of his life, Maudie Hendrix on Sept. 25, 1949, and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.W. hicks; five sisters, Oma Green, Emma Fisher, Juanita Metez, Ann Bramel and Donna Owens. He is survived by his wife, Maudie Hicks, Brinkley; four sons, Donald Hicks (Mittie), Lebanon, Mo., Richard hicks (Melissa), Clanton, Ala., William hicks (Carolyn), Brinkley, Vernon Hicks (Renee), Augusta, Ga.; two daughters, Maudie Northup, Little Rock, Nancy Hicks, Wynne; two sisters, Billie Green (Odell), Clarendon, Ludie Hendrix (Vernon), St. Charles, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 16 grandchildren. Visitation Sunday, 4-6 p.m., Fowler Funeral Home, Brinkley. Funeral service Monday, 2 p.m., Fowler Funeral Chapel, Bro. Robert Mays and Bro. Odell Green officiating. Pallbearers: William Hicks, Richard Hicks, Donald Hicks, Wayne Hicks, Rickey Green and Douglas Hicks. Honorary pallbearers: Jesse Hicks, Brent Hicks, Allen Lewis, Chance Hicks, Kenny Green, Nathan Hicks and Robert Belcher. Memorials to Veterans Hospital.
