Nadine Lossing

Nadine Lossing, age 88, of Exeter, Missouri, died on November 7, 2010, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on January 19, 1922, at Beaver, Oklahoma to Cecil and Angeline Wright Gettings. She graduated from Beaver High School. Nadine married Ernest Lossing on August 18, 1944. She and her husband moved to Farmington, Arkansas, in 1947. She was a house wife and enjoyed raising a garden and flowers, fishing, making trips to south Texas for the winter, crocheting and knitting and spending time with friends. Nadine was a member of the Farmington Baptist Church. She moved to Exeter, Missouri in 2000, to live with her son and daugher-in-law. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She cherished her family and always welcomed them with open arms. Nadine is survived by a son, John Lossing and daughter-in-law Carol Donaice, a daughter Linda Bartholomew and son-in-law David; grandchildren: Stephanie Elling, Susan Trantham, Douglas Lossing, Bridgette Caples, Kara McConnell, and Candice Stephens, great-grandchildren: Kaustin, Christian, Madilyn, Meredith, Bailey, Claire, Cole, Katharine, Karaline, Rheis, and David. Also, sister-in-law Maxine Lossing and many nieces and nephews. Nadine was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters Eldon Gettings, Doyle Gettings, Kenneth Gettings, Opal Hibbs, Christella Hunt, and two nephews. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date with interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Banner, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Farmington, Arkansas, Senior Center, 340 W. Main St, Farmington, Arkansas 72730. The family extends their thanks and gratitude to the administrators and staff at Red Rose Rehabilitation and Nursing Home at Cassville, Missouri, for their loving care of Nadine over the last seven years.
