William Bryant Dhoritey, 69, of Searcy, formerly of Judsonia, passed away at his home November 11, 2010. He was born in Manila, Arkansas to William Henry and Erma Buck Dhoritey on September 27, 1941. He was a 1959 graduate of Judsonia High School and Graduated from Harding College in 1964. He was a retired high school algebra teacher and boy's basketball coach at Judsonia and Riverview Schools. He began his teaching career at Pangburn High School in 1964 and taught there for one year before coming home to Judsonia where he taught for the next 44 years until his retirement in 2009. Coach Dhoritey coached the Judsonia and later Riverview boy's high school basketball teams from 1972 until his retirement in 1996. During his tenure, his teams accumulated a record of 559 wins and 255 losses, having only one losing season in his career. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger sister Jannie Rouse. Survivors include his wife, Belinda Kay Latimer Dhoritey; two daughters, Mindy Dhoritey of Bellevue, Nebraska and Jill Ann Reed of Judsonia; two stepsons, Bobby and Jeremy Pankey of Judsonia; two sisters, Betty Lloyd of Judsonia and Alma Ruth Brown of Little Rock and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Judsonia under the direction of Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
