Franklin Delano Shelton passed on Oct. 11, 2010 away at the age of 77 in Berkeley, Calif. He was born in Whitehall, Ark. to the late Milton (Bulla) and Berteal Shelton. He moved to Little Rock at a young age and attended Dunbar High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a computer programmer and retired from the U.S. Army at Fort Mason & Presidio in San Francisco, Calif. in 1996. Franklin was a long-time resident of Oakland, Calif. and moved to Las Vegas in 2000 with his wife to enjoy retirement. He is survived by his wife, Juanita; one sister, Ercile Byrd; two children, Franklin (Sam) and Adrienne and a grandson, Zion, whom he loved dearly. Services were previously held at Whitted-Williams Funeral Home and First AME Church both in Oakland, Calif. Interment was at Lonetree Cemetery, Hayward, Calif.
