Billy Jack Edwards

Billy Jack Edwards, age 85, of Crossett, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Cherry Ridge Guest Care in Bastrop, LA. He was born on August 28, 1925 in Electric Mills, Miss. to his parents, Hemphill and Etoyle Strebeck Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a Veteran of WWII and retired from Chase Bag Company. He loved bowling and especially baseball, as he played for the Crossett Millers Team as a shortstop. Mr. Edwards was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Norma Edwards Aunspaugh and a nephew, David Aunspaugh. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Hazel Youngblood Edwards of Crossett, Ark.; three sons, Richard Edwards (Ruth), Ernest Edwards (Dianne), Billy Wayne Edwards (Annette), all of Crossett, Ark.; one daughter, Kimle Edwards of Crossett, Ark.; two nieces, Deborah Aunspaugh Judkins, Denise Aunspaugh Friedman; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark.
