Edward E. Harris

Reverend Edward E. Harris, age 91, of Crossett passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Oak Ridge Nursing Home in El Dorado, AR. He was born on October 2, 1919 to his late parents, Ivy Marcellus and Frances Myrtle Roberts Harris. Mr. Harris was a lifetime member of the Crossett Masonic Lodge # 576. Mr. Harris was an ordained minister having integrated employment at Chase Bag and was a Tax Consultant on Dogwood Drive for many individuals and small businesses. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Alice Fletcher Harris, and three brothers, Lester, Chester and Clifton "Tootsie" Harris. Survivors include three sons, Billy Edward Harris of Lake Village, Ark., Lewis Edward Harris of Houston, Texas, James Alfie Harris of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Carolyn S. Harris of Crossett, Ark.; four grandchildren, Joel, Sarah, Jamie and Michael; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday , November 17, 2010 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eric Hodge and Bro. David Tohlen officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark. (www.jonesservice.com). Visitation will be from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
